July 2008 - Pacific Smiles Group acquires new centre in regional Victoria.
Pacific Smiles Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of another Dental Care Centre.

Pacific Smiles Group is delighted to announce the acquisition of another Dental Care Centre located at 56 Cunninghame St, Sale in regional Victoria.

The Centre was acquired from Dr Annette Gibson and Dr John Gibson who established the Centre in 1988. Both Practitioners will continue to practice from the Centre as will Dr David McMahon and the visiting Orthodontist Dr Giles Plunkett.

The Centre will undergo an immediate name change to Pacific Smiles Dental, Sale confirming its position within the growing network of Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres throughout New South Wales and Victoria.

The Dental Care Centre currently features 2 surgeries however a Development Application has been approved by local council to expand the Centre with more surgeries, a larger sterilisation area and new staff facilities. As with all acquisitions, Pacific Smiles Group will integrate proven systems and procedures into the new centre to benefit the Practitioners and staff from the outset.

Following the planned expansion, additional Practitioners will be introduced to provide the community with greater accessibility to dental care when they need it. Pacific Smiles Group will introduce six day trading, urgent care appointments and longer opening hours to minimise waiting periods.

CEO of Pacific Smiles Group, John Gibbs confirmed that this acquisition is the second Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centre to open in regional Victoria with further expansion planned. He added that “this most recent acquisition takes the total number of Dental Care Centres owned and operated by Pacific Smiles Group to eighteen".


June 2008 - Pacific Smiles Group further expands operations in Sydney.
Pacific Smiles Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of another Dental Care Centre.

Located at 3 Meriton St, Gladesville, the Centre will be branded as Pacific Smiles Dental, Gladesville, confirming its positioning as part of the growing network of Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres throughout New South Wales and Victoria.

The Centre was acquired from Dr Warwick Birch and Dr Rod Mitchell who have been servicing the Gladesville community for many years. Dr Birch will continue to practice from the Centre while Dr Mitchell has confirmed his retirement. The familiar team of support staff will continue to provide patients with the excellent care to which they have become accustomed.

The Dental Centre currently features four surgeries with sufficient internal space to expand when the Centre is refurbished in the near future. The combination of a long-term successful practice with PSG’s proven systems and processes will ensure a very positive outcome for patients and all other stakeholders. In keeping with the Pacific Smiles Dental model, the Gladesville Centre will offer 6 day a week trading and new and existing patients will have access to longer opening hours and urgent care appointments.

John Gibbs, CEO of Pacific Smiles Group advised that the acquisition of the Dental Centre in Gladesville is the second Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centre to open in Sydney in as many months. He added that ”Pacific Smiles Group was now well advanced in its plans to establish a network of quality Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres in the Sydney region.”


March 2008 - Pacific Smiles Group (PSG) is pleased to announce the opening of a new nib Dental and Eye Care Centre in the heart of the Melbourne CBD.
Located at 356 Collins Street, the new nib Dental and Eye Care Centre is co-located with a nib health funds Retail Centre. The combination of the three service offerings in one location is a first for the health fund and reflects the continued successful relationship between PSG and nib to provide convenience and quality to nib customers.

PSG and nib developed the new centre to provide quality dental and eye care services to nib’s growing customer base in the Melbourne market, as well as the general public. It is expected that the ultra-convenient location and sophisticated, friendly design will make it the dental and eye care centre of choice to CBD workers and those who live in the city.

The nib Dental Care Centre is located on the mezzanine level and has the capacity for up to nine dental surgeries. PSG has incorporated the latest technology to ensure the very best care to patients, including digital x-ray and imaging equipment, electronic patient management systems and instrument sterilizing and tracking systems.

The nib Eye Care Centre is situated on the ground floor with the nib Retail Centre. Eye Care customers have a wide choice of designer eyewear brands including Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Tag Heuer and Ted Baker. In addition to prescription eyewear, there is agreat range of designer sunglasses, contact lenses, solutions and accessories.

The nib Dental and Eye Care Centre opened with an overwhelming number of appointments as a result of an extensive direct mail campaign. The campaign offered eligible nib policyholders up to $250 worth of free services including a free dental check-up, clean and fluoride treatment (worth $150) plus $100 off prescription glasses and new season sunglasses at nib Eye Care.


March 2008 - Albert Street Dental is on the Move…
In a continuing tradition of providing outstanding services to patients, Albert Street Dental is relocating to a spectacular purpose built centre designed and built by David and Sue Griffiths. Located at 130 Albert Street, the new centre comprises eight surgeries, each fitted with the latest technology including digital x-rays and designed with the comfort and safety of patients in mind. In addition, the sterilisation area has been expanded and enlists many up to date safety systems and the latest technology, ensuring efficient and effective infection control measures. The building has been designed to achieve a five star energy rating for environmental benefits.

Patients will be impressed by the convenient patient parking located at the rear of the building with easy wheelchair access. The centre also includes education facilities for continuing professional development of staff which will ensure patients receive the best dental care available.

One other change that patients will notice is that the brand of the centre will be changed to Pacific Smiles Dental reflecting the participation of this centre in the Pacific Smiles Group, a leading Australian operator of quality Dental Care Centres throughout Victoria and New South Wales.

John Gibbs, CEO of Pacific Smiles Group confirmed that the relocation of the Warragul centre is an integral part of the company’s expansion plans into regional Victoria.
