November 2009 - Pacific Smiles Group announces a new Pacific Smiles Dental Centre in Bairnsdale, Victoria
Pacific Smiles Group is excited to announce the acquisition of Pacific Smiles Dental, Bairnsdale, previously known as Bairnsdale Dental Care. This new acquisition at 287 Main Street, Bairnsdale reflects the confidence Pacific Smiles Group has in the Gippsland region and its commitment to the provision of quality dental care throughout regional Australia.
The acquisition of Bairnsdale Dental Care from dentists Andy and Clare Marriot-Smith increases the number of dental care centres in the region to four with other Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres located at nearby Warragul, Traralgon and Sale.
Although the dental centre will undergo a name change to Pacific Smiles Dental, Bairnsdale, thesame dedicated team of dentists and staff will remain at the centre to continue to provide the high quality service and care that the loyal patient base has grown to appreciate over many years.

October 2009 - New Dental Centre opens in Traralgon, Victoria
Pacific Smiles Group is excited to announce the opening of a new Dental Care Centre at 20 Hotham Street, Traralgon, Victoria. The new purpose built Pacific Smiles Dental Centre opened yesterday with over 250 patient appointments in the book following a strong pre-opening communication campaign to the local community.
Dental patients are enjoying an unprecedented level of comfort and convenience at the new Centre, which has been designed to provide the local community with easy access to essential dental services six days per week and urgent care appointments available every day. With total potential capacity of seven dental surgeries in the new Centre, it has opened with three fully equipped dental surgeries and the latest proven technologies including digital imaging and electronic patient charting.

July 2009 - Gladesville - Extensive Dental Centre Renovations Complete.
Pacific Smiles Group recently celebrated the completion of an extensive refurbishment at one of its Sydney based dental centres located in Gladesville.
The Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centre, located at 3 Meriton Street Gladesville, was acquired by Pacific Smiles Group in June 2008 from Dr Warwick Birch and Dr Rod Mitchell who had been servicing the Gladesville community for many years. Dr Birch continues to practice from the Centre, while Dr Mitchell took the opportunity to retire.
The refurbishment, which commenced in late 2008, included the complete fit out of four surgeries along with the installation of digital x-rays and OPG. A new lab and sterilisation room have been constructed making infection control and sterilisation a key focus of the Centre.
Accompanying the refurbishment was an enhanced security system and a full upgrade of IT throughout the Centre.
The reception and waiting areas have been beautifully transformed to enhance patient comfort while a children’s play area including Play Station is now also available to keep the children occupied.
In association with the completion of the renovation, Pacific Smiles Dental, Gladesville now offers Saturday appointments and additional Practitioners to enhance the accessibility of the Centre to the entire community.

May 2009 - New Melbourne CBD Dental Centre for Pacific Smiles Group.
Pacific Smiles Group is pleased to announce the reopening of one of its existing dental centres in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. Now branded as a member of the growing Pacific Smiles Dental network, the Centre opened on Monday 11 May 2009.
Located at 360 Bourke Street, the new Melbourne Centre is positioned opposite the GPO on the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth Streets. The convenient city location is ideal for busy CBD workers and provides excellent exposure of the Pacific Smiles Dental brand to the Melbourne metro environment.
The Centre will provide patients with the same level of professional service and care provided by all of the Dentists from Pacific Smiles Group. Pacific Smiles Dental, Melbourne, offers urgent care appointments daily and Dental Practitioners have signed Preferred Provider Agreements with major Victorian private health insurers to ensure patients receive the best possible rebate from their private health fund.
Practitioners will also take part in government assisted dental schemes such as the Medicare Teen Dental Plan and the Enhanced Primary Care Scheme (EPC). May 2009 - Local Dentists Provide Free Dental Care.
Dentists and staff from Pacific Smiles Dental generously donated their time on Saturday 9th of May 2009 to participate in the NSW National Dental Foundation Volunteer Day.
For the third consecutive year, Pacific Smiles Dental encouraged Dentists and staff to participate in the program which offers underprivileged fellow Australians the opportunity to receive quality dental care for free.
6 Dentists from Pacific Smiles Dental gave up their time on Saturday with a team of 6 staff members assisting them. Dr Alex Abrahams, founder of Pacific Smiles Dental, who has participated in the volunteer days for the last three years, said he “looks forward to helping local community members each year via the program”.
“The patients and charities involved are always so appreciative” said Dr Abrahams, “and that’s why we always have more and more dentists and staff members ready to help out each year”.
Pacific Smiles Dental provided much needed dental treatment to numerous patients on the day at no cost to the patient. Treatment ranged from check-ups and cleans to fillings, extractions and oral health care advice.
Patients were referred to Pacific Smiles Dental from a number of local charities including Carries House, The Mai-Wel Group, WHO and Burnside. Pacific Smiles Dental has already commenced plans to participate in the next NSW National Dental Foundation Volunteer Day in August 2009.

March 2009 - Pacific Smiles Dental Donates $23,290 to Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund.
Pacific Smiles Dental presented a cheque to the value of $23,290 to Mr John Mitchell, President of the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund on Monday 16 March 2009. Donations were collected from the staff and dentists of Pacific Smiles and the company matched the staff and dentist contributions dollar for dollar.
With Dental Centres located in Warragul and Sale and a brand new Dental Centre currently under development in Traralgon, Pacific Smiles Dental is strongly committed to the local region and its people. The staff and dentists of Pacific Smiles Dental rallied together to raise as much money as possible to assist in the relief effort.
Dr David Griffiths, of Pacific Smiles Dental at Warragul, was impressed by the work being undertaken by the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF) and suggested that the Pacific Smiles Dental donation be given to this organisation which specifically assists people in the Gippsland region who have been affected by emergencies and natural disasters.
John Gibbs, CEO of Pacific Smiles, proudly handed the cheque to Mr. Mitchell and sincerely thanked Mr. Mitchell for the great work being done by GERF. “It’s wonderful to know that the Pacific Smiles donation is going directly to affected families in the area,” said John.S

February 2009 - Pacific Smiles Group acquires new Dental Centre in Torquay, Victoria.
Pacific Smiles Group is delighted to announce the acquisition of a new Dental Care Centre located on Australia’s Surf Coast at Torquay, about an hour west of Melbourne.
Torquay Dental Practice, located at 94 Geelong Road, Torquay, will now form part of the growing family of quality Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres located throughout Victoria and New South Wales.
The Dental Centre will undergo a name change to Pacific Smiles Dental, Torquay and all of the current Practitioners and staff are keen to embrace this exciting change. Torquay Dental Centre has been acquired from Dr Stephen Bourns and Dr Rupert Irwin, who have been providing quality dental care to the local Torquay community for many years.
